As the primary designer on the McDonald’s partnership account for WGU Certificates, I worked closely with WGU Strategic Partnerships and McDonald’s Archways to Opportunity stakeholders to develop cohesive, co-branded creative across initiatives and rebrands.

“Dip Into College” 2022 Marketing Campaign for the McDonald’s Archways to Opportunity and WGU Academy partnership
Concept development, campaign strategy, design, copywriting, vendor coordination
I concepted, named, and designed the “Dip Into College” campaign to support Western Governors University Academy’s engagement initiative with McDonald’s franchise employees. The idea centered on lowering the barrier to education by encouraging McDonalds restaurant employees to “dip their toes” into college—making the experience feel approachable, fun, and accessible.
The campaign translated this concept into a tangible unboxing experience for franchisees owner/operators, featuring curated WGU Academy merch kits designed to spark participation with restaurant employees.
Items included branded pins for McDonalds hats and suspenders, stickers, car air fresheners with a McFlurry-inspired vanilla scent—each designed to feel playful while reinforcing overall the campaign message.
It was an honor to lead the “dip into college” campaign put WGU Academy on the McDonalds map with a splash. The fun boxes yielded an astounding increase in website visits, leads, and student enrollments.
